Danoleene Marie Pasicolan Tugade, 27, is the national top seven in the Sept. 2016 Librarian Licensure Examination with a rating of 88.40 percent.

Tugade was a University of Saint Louis (USL) graduate of BS Information Technology in 2011. Through the USL Faculty Development Program, she enrolled Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) and finished it in 2015.

What kept her vigor to juggle her family life as a wife and a mother to her daughter; her work as the Reference and Online Resources In-charge of the USL Library and part-time BLIS instructor; a student pursuing her master’s degree in Library Science; and as one reviewing for the Librarian Licensure Exam — was her vision to achieve what she wants.

“If you really want to achieve something, it’s really up to you. Just pour out your whole heart and soul; eventually, you will reap the fruits of your labor,” she said.

Empowered by her strong faith, together with her fellow USL board takers, they held novena and prayed in Quiapo during their review.

“I was called as the mother of rosary by my fellows for I always wore rosary bracelets. We fervently prayed to God and went to nearby churches,” she further said of her preparation for the board exam.

Other USL graduates who passed the Sept. 2016 LLE include: Bobby D. Cauilan, Rhema Marie P. Badeo, Kristine Angela B. Bayani, Phoemela P. Blanco, Jane Xandra C. Bunagan, Jennelyn C. Dabbay, Elma S. Eclarin, Antonette Marie D. Malana, Gladys M. Requimin, and Dianne D. Tordillos.

Mrs. Arlyn S. Cristobal, BLIS Program Chair, conveyed her congratulatory message to the passers.

“I always reminded them that LLE would be the last examination they would have as an assessment of what they have learned, so they took it seriously. These words I think made them motivated to pass the examination with pride and honor. To all the passers, you made it because you really prepared for it.”

Meanwhile, two USL library staff members likewise passed the same exam: Jayson Mark R. Cabulay (also a BLIS instructor) and Avel Perseus G. Tallud.

Last year’s LLE was postponed by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC); hence, the 2015 graduates took their exam this year.

In 2013, USL produced its pioneer librarians with 100 percent passing rate in the board exam, and the national top one, Bilyson D. Alejo.
